Compliance

Blue Basin, Inc. helps hospitals, psychiatric programs, therapeutic foster care agencies, community mental health centers, residential treatment centers, and other organizations meet and sustain compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

We also conduct independent compliance audits for organizations seeking accreditation, licensing, or an external review following a sentinel event. We conduct root cause analysis, and review operations, policies, medical records, staffing patterns, staff credentials, service documents and decision protocols.

Independent Compliance Audit
We provide Independent Quality Audits using standards and established criteria. If necessary, we will provide technical assistance, guidance and training in establishing measurable standards.

Compliance Reviews
Compliance Reviews compare human resource, program, clinical, and administrative operations with federal and state regulations, accreditation standards or licensing requirements. Compliance management services are offered for all regulatory entities, including Medicaid, Medicare, and state licensing regulations.

Pre Site Visit Compliance Review
Blue Basin will assess all aspects of an organization’s operations, policies and procedures, medical records, human resources, quality management, physical plant, life safety, and other dimensions of state licensing requirements. This external review includes on-site, hands-on recommendations and training as well as a succinctly written report with recommendations for improvement in any deficient areas. Blue Basin will collaboratively revise procedures and train staff in their implementation.

Preventive Maintenance
To help providers and public agencies stay in compliance with state and federal regulations, Blue Basin offers routinely scheduled periodic compliance reviews. These may be tailored to specific aspects of service operations (e.g. restraints, utilization review), or extend to all systems impacted by regulation.
